Gold-catalyzed direct arylation.
Biaryls (two directly connected aromatic rings, Ar(1)-Ar(2)) are common motifs in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and organic materials. Current methods for establishing the Ar(1)-Ar(2) bond are dominated by the cross-coupling of aryl halides (Ar(1)-X) with aryl metallics (Ar(2)-M). We report that, in the presence of 1 to 2 mole percent of a gold catalyst and a mild oxidant, a wide range of are...
متن کاملPhotocatalytic Arylation of Alkenes, Alkynes and Enones with Diazonium Salts
Carbon–carbon bond formation by sp–sp or sp–sp crosscoupling is a key transformation in organic synthesis. Many methods, typically involving transition metal catalysis, are known, and the recent recognition of Richard F. Heck, Ei-ichi Negishi and Akira Suzuki by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Stockholm, Sweden) when they were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (2010) underlines the im...
متن کاملPalladium-Catalyzed α-Arylation of Benzylic Phosphonates
A new synthetic route to access diarylmethyl phosphonates is presented. The transformation enables the introduction of aromatic groups on benzylic phosphonates via a deprotonative cross-coupling process (DCCP). The Pd(OAc)2/CataCXium A-based catalyst afforded a reaction between benzyl diisopropyl phosphonate derivatives and aryl bromides in good to excellent isolated yields (64-92%).
متن کاملChromium(II)-catalyzed enantioselective arylation of ketones
The chromium-catalyzed enantioselective addition of carbo halides to carbonyl compounds is an important transformation in organic synthesis. However, the corresponding catalytic enantioselective arylation of ketones has not been reported to date. Herein, we report the first Cr-catalyzed enantioselective addition of aryl halides to both arylaliphatic and aliphatic ketones with high enantioselect...
متن کاملRhodium-Catalyzed Enantioselective Arylation of Aliphatic Imines.
Chiral rhodium(I)-catalyzed highly enantioselective arylation of aliphatic N-sulfonyl aldimines with arylboronic acids has been developed. This transformation is achieved by the use of a rhodium/bis(phosphoramidite) catalyst to give enantiomerically enriched α-branched amines (up to 99 % ee). In addition, this system enables efficient synthesis of (+)-NPS R-568 and Cinacalcet which are calcimim...
